Waterjet Cutting

There are many processes that cannot be completed without waterjet cutting.  Here are some reasons why the waterjet cut is superior to laser, plasma, and torch cutting.

  • High tolerance and vertical cuts on thicker materials (down to 0.005″ on some materials)

  • Cut materials not possible with other technologies

  • No HAZ (heat affected zone) that can change the material temper or cause work hardening.

  • Waterjets cut with around 1700 mph, 59,000psi consuming around 1 to 1.6lb a minute of garnet sand.  This supersonic sandpaper leaves a sanded edge that may not require downstream processing.
