Waterjet Cutting
There are many processes that cannot be completed without waterjet cutting. Here are some reasons why the waterjet cut is superior to laser, plasma, and torch cutting.
High tolerance and vertical cuts on thicker materials (down to 0.005″ on some materials)
Cut materials not possible with other technologies
No HAZ (heat affected zone) that can change the material temper or cause work hardening.
Waterjets cut with around 1700 mph, 59,000psi consuming around 1 to 1.6lb a minute of garnet sand. This supersonic sandpaper leaves a sanded edge that may not require downstream processing.
