Joe Gormican has a BA in Molecular Biology from UC Berkeley and comes with 20+ years of high volume biotech manufacturing using custom automation. He has managed manufacturing teams in USDA and FDA regulated environments using custom automation equipment. He brings experience with Quality Systems, Lean Six Sigma Methodologies (Operational Excellence Site lead at Zoetis), Total Quality Management ideas and has engineered various pieces of custom equipment.
He founded and ran Trick Tuners, a Fuel Injection Tuning and Dyno shop for high performance automotive applications from 2005 – 2018.
Joe has always been a metal fabricator, owning 4 welders, 2 plasma cutters, and a torch prior to the purchase of Waterjet West.
Part of the reason Waterjet West was a great fit was that Joe made a custom CNC plasma cutter to cut designs in beer kegs for a company called Hotkeg. Many of the skills leaned on this project directly transfer to waterjet cutting. The goal is to release production versions in 2026.
