All types of carbon steel are accurately and cost-effectively cut using abrasive waterjet machining because it is a cold process that uses no heat which prevents edge hardening.
We have cut alloys such as 4130, 4340, A36, 1018, 1020 and many variants of these grades including hardened tool steel such as A-2, 0-1 or D-2 that range in size from .003 shim stock up to 4 inch thick structural parts for heavy industry. All have edge finishes that are ready for use eliminating secondary processes and saving time and money.
